CSI people need to stop being shot in the head

Rant:

CSI people are the Judge Dreads of TV.  They investigate, analyze, apprehend, interrogate, and occasionally execute their criminals.  Each agent is assigned to a case with a partner.   Each partner is fully capable of doing any of the tasks required.  If one performs a task, the other comes over and pats them on the shoulder; it could have just as easily been them performing the hair fiber analysis.  They aren’t specialists; they are super-humans who have 8 PhD’s and are more capable in all aspects of a case than any one real specialist.

And then they don’t even die when shot in the head.  Repeatedly.

Then they come back, *retarded*, and they are still smarter than everyone but their partners.

Trilogies – Engine reuse without the Guilt?

Look. Not everything needs a sequel. Most things should not be designed with the intent of spreading out content. Yes, yes, episodic content is all the rage right now, but the development cycles aren’t there yet. Just look at Valve and their “HalfLife episodes 1-3 = HalfLife3” I bet you their next HalfLife sure as shit isn’t called HalfLife 4. Just because Lord of the Rings did it does NOT mean everyone should be able to sell the same thing 3 times. The reason LoTR did it is because it is a 12 hour movie. You offer me that much more substantial and new content in a trilogy and I’ll be pleased. The problem is: this isn’t happening. The 2nd and 3rd titles each have only a year of turn around, and are rushed to the holiday market. They lack the polish the original had, look and do no better than the original, and are only an extension. They aren’t a sequel, they are an expansion pack. See: amazing “Baldur’s Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal.”

Rant: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 NEEDS to have co-op combination of Live and Local. If I have 2 friends over, and a 3rd at his home, I want to play with all of them, dammit.

It’s not like the experience is any different on Live than Local play already. The screen locks you all together no matter which platform (local or live) that you play on. You simply can’t have 2 people on the same console. If Halo can do it, an xbox port of the xmen legends engine sure should be able to. Or perhaps that’s the problem…

Either way, from a gamer’s standpoint: just do it already. You know it makes sense.
