New Clone Wars Trailer

New Clone Wars Trailer

This trailer is a lot more atmospheric than the last one. I like it.

See it here.

I'm your medic, bitch. – This one's for you, Ted

I’m your medic, bitch. – This one’s for you, Ted

Matt found this. Unlike the warbling before of players singing, this song is actually catchy.

“I’m your medic, bitch…”

pLayday: 6/10 – CoD4, The Musical

While a Call Of Duty musical would be entertaining (Price’s mustache easily places him in the cast of several), we could just play some. I know Zazz recently found a cheap copy, and I hope we can get some more people who own it to show as well.

And we could also just sing as well…

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. Watch It.

It’s funny. That’s all you need to know. Sure, it got crushed in the reviews, but who are you watching movies for? Them or you?

I finally beat: Resistance – Fall of Man

This was the PS3 launch title. This was the system seller. Made by Insomniac (of Rachet and Clank, and the original Spyro) fame, this PS3 fps combined the best aspects of WWII shooters and Halo (including a Co-Op campaign). With the other PS3 launch titles delayed, Resistance had to stand on its own. Was it smooth sailing, or a bumpy ride? Continue reading

I finally watched: The Strangers
Ok, this was a decently scary movie, but not because of any suspense it manages to build. It pulls off its scares because it creates a pair of victims in a realistic setting. Victims you care about (well, one of them at least)…

Site Reboot

Site Reboot
Well, I’m currently working on a site reboot with a new layout. What do you think? Well, as for making posts, you’ll notice this handy device at the top for easy, quick posts. If you make the first line of the post:
Title
followed by what you want to talk about

Then the post will automatically get the title, and it will also appear as the first line in bold. Handy, eh? I’ll be looking up other information, such as how big pictures should be, or if they are resized automatically after the post goes up. Of course, to insert a picture, you will need to make the post manually the old way (and you will need to put the title in the Body of the post for it to be viewable), or put up a post and then edit it to add the picture after the fact.

I’m going back and editing the titles of old posts, and duplicating them into the body for easy viewing.

pLayday: 6/3 – Mix it up? Rockband? Halo3?

pLayday: 6/3 – Mix it up? Rockband? Halo3?

Quickie post:

I’m thinking of mixing it up a bit. We’ve been a bit gta4 heavy. That isn’t to say “No GTA4 tonight!” Just thinking: “maybe 30 minutes of 2 groups of rockband?” or some Halo 3 to get some split screenage (I may get Matt to come over and join us for a bit).

Other ideas?

pLayday: 5/27 – huh?

No Mutants Allowed

pLayday: 5/27 – huh?

Well, I was helping a friend move/clean. So I forgot to post/email and organize pLayday. Apparently, that was enough for no one to show up. Oh well.

Remember: pLayday is akin to a (your favorite) TV show. It’s Tuesdays at 8pm CST, regardless of whether there was a commercial this week.

Also, we’ve been a bit GTA4 heavy. I’m thinking we mix it up again next week with either Halo, Undertow, or most likely Call of Duty 4 (if our Amazon DotD copies get in on time). Also, those games have better party systems than GTA4’s currently broken “most of you will stick together” way of doing things.

Any preference on the subject?

Xbox DRM – In the age of PC Digital Distrobution

I can\'t let you do that, Dave

Xbox DRM – In the age of PC Digital Distrobution

Xbox DRM has been a bane for us all. We have all red ringed our xbox 360’s, and if you haven’t, then you just haven’t used yours enough yet. I’m not sure how they calculate their 10-30% failure rate. I believe it lies closer to 100%. It WILL fail eventually, often within a year and a half. Still, it is probably the system to own if you like to play games (lots of great exclusives), and especially if you like to game online with friends. Once your 360 dies and you (hopefully) get it replaced, you have access to your content. Restricted access that requires the owner be logged on the 360, and in some extreme cases MUST BE ACTIVELY PLAYING. This is to prevent friends from sharing Live content, but it affects us ALL once our first system dies. I have to be logged in just for my friends to have access to FREE GAMER PICS I downloaded while they make their Profile (Local or Live).

PC Gaming, however, has even a bigger hurdle with Piracy. Yet, they are adapting in different ways with their digital distribution. Is there a solution to DRM on either platform that can make consumers happy, while giving businesses profit? The rule of a successful compromise is that neither party leaves happy; but isn’t that necessary for good/repeat business? As a consumer, shouldn’t we BE happy?
