Lode Runner was 800; now 1200?

Early Wed morning, Lode Runner was released to the marketplace for 800 points.
All of the advertising and announcements pointed to another 1200 point release, including the page on xbox.com.  But the marketplace had it for 800.
I decided to purchase through the marketplace on xbox.com and add to my queue.  Account charged 800 points.

**Price was determined a mistake, and raised to 1200 midday.** Continue reading

Get hyped for: New Fallout by Obsidian

“Obsidian is currently headed up by Chris Avellone, who was one of the major names behind Fallout 2.”

Obsidian seems to get the responsibility for many great sequels that they did not originally make (Kotor2, NWN2, Alpha Protocol (Mass Effectish) and now Fallout 3.5).  So far, it has been obvious that each time their development is cut short and they are forced to release what feels like an unfinished, unoptimized, or unpolished product.  A product that is still better than most other games, and screams the promise of a AAA title.  Usually darker tales with decent writing.  Here’s hoping they hit it out of the park with Fallout.

Lunch Conversations: Bizzaros

matrix_twins_v10a_940

With the recent 10th Anniversary of the Matrix, I watched The Matrix and Matrix reloaded with Rifftrax.  With that, I had a random thought while watching Reloaded.

The twins are a Bizzaro.

  • They wear suits
  • They are violent
  • They have dreads
  • There are white
  • There are more than one of them

They are….

Get hyped for: Trine (again, now with Coop)

As I mentioned previously, Trine looks and sounds amazing.

Now, adding coop makes it even better.  Coming soon to a PS3 or PC near you.  I just really, *really* hope they allow support for 2 players on one system, and a third on another; too many games are either all hotseat, or all online.  My roomate wants to play, too, dammit.

Get hyped.

Order of War needs a new name. Otherwise looks interesting.

http://kotaku.com/5214635/square-enix-finally-gets-a-world-war-ii-game

I think it is interesting Square Enix (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest) are publishing this title, but from the looks of it, it does look fun.  I’ve always been more a fan of large scale RTS games (Starcraft, C&C, TotalWar) than the smaller scale they’ve been leaning towards in recent years (World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War 2, or even Dawn of War 1).

Small scale conflict needs more formations; Myth 2 was the best small scale I’ve played.

Sometimes, strategy games are fun when they have less strategy and just look *damn* good.  When it is fun just watching a mass of units run across the battlefield, it is a bit easier to make the rest of the game entertaining, too.

Steam weekend deal: Peggle!

steamwd-peggle

This week it Steam offers the Peggle Deluxe and Peggle Nights pack.  Each game individually is normally $10.  The $20 pack is available for half off: $10.  I highly recommend trying the Peggle demo.  The presentation and music are great fun, even if the gameplay mechanics feel entirely random:

Pachinko, ftw.

Mirror's Edge is $20 @ Amazon DotD

If you don’t have Mirror’s Edge yet, and had any interest, this is a great time to pick it up.

Only $20, for Xbox360 and PC (sold out of PS3?):
